MDA Facts

  • MDA funds 225 hospital-affiliated clinics around the country, including the pediatric and adult neuromuscular clinics held at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

  • MDA is the world's largest non-governmental sponsor of research seeking the causes of and effective treatments for neuromuscular disease, sponsoring some 400 research projects annually.
  • In addition to sponsoring research, MDA provides comprehensive public awareness and health education programs through seminars, workshops, newsletters and the media--including the MDA Jerry Lewis Telethon held annually on Labor Day Weekend.
